Middle Leadership Programme

Middle Leaders have a pivotal role in schools and usually perform some or all of the following functions, which require specific knowledge, skills and attributes:

  1. Lead teams
  2. Lead teaching & learning (e.g. for a Key Stage/Phase/Year Group/Subject)
  3. Lead change initiatives for school improvement
  4. Develop staff (e.g. mentoring NQT/RQT’s, trainees; coaching existing team)
  5. Performance management of staff
  6. Commit to personal, professional development

This programme has been designed to address the knowledge and skills required via a range of blending learning consisting of three core elements:

  • Three face-to-face days over two terms
  • A gap task that enables attendees to apply elements of learning in relation to their practice and responsibilities in school
  • A reflective presentation, to which line managers will be invited.

An interesting day that will definitely impact on my leadership in school

Well led with very knowledgeable Headteacher presenters who were able to share personal experiences.
